Journal #1
Tonight was my first actual look into what the senior exhibit project is. Sure, I have heard about the project from current seniors and those who have already completed the process – though, usually its always complaining. However, after this meeting I am actually excited to start this process! It’s a great idea and gives you the perfect opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge into something you’re interested in studying or that you would like to find more about. Also, if you choose the eight topic it could benefit you in the future. Coming to this meeting I had already given this project thought, so I have a few ideas that I am considering. The one that I am most interested in doing is, something to help students have an insight of different majors and careers. They would be able to come and learn about the different majors and how to apply them later when choosing a life long career. I got this idea because everyone is starting to ask me what college I am interested in, what am I thinking of studying, what I want to do when I get out of college. These are critical decisions to be making at such a young age, and I really am not sure what I want to study or what career I am looking into. This is frustrating at times because the pressure is on, its time to make the big decision and you look around and some of your friends already know the answers to all these questions. However, I know for a fact that there are a lot of people like me – with the answer, still unknown. By doing all the research and compiling the information, I hope this project will benefit me, as well as, others.
I have come to conclusion that the topic I mentioned in my first journal is that one that I am going to pursue. I am still excited for it, however I still need help in determining what my summer activity will be.
I had to call around to different career placement agencies to hopefully set up a time where I could learn more about the process and basically shadow them. I called UMW, and two other companies and I got a yes from UMW and am still waiting on the other two.

TURNS OUT that I got turned down by the other two companies. One just didn’t return my calls and the other said that there were privacy issues. This was extremely disappointing news to find out – because that makes me lost as to what I should do over the summer. Luckily
